Personal Sketchbook - 2020 onwards
During Melbourne’s first COVID lockdown, I started keeping a personal sketchbook as a creative outlet. City-bound, I focused my attention on plants and organic shapes, looking at images and the plants around my home. On walks, I would take photos or collect interesting leaves from the ground and spend time studying the details and patterns I could draw from them. For the first time, I made a habit of carrying my sketchbook with me everywhere and focused on bold line work and stippling.
Some drawings have been translated onto the skin through the hand tattooing method known as ‘stick and poke’.
